Sex Trafficking Pop up [RECRUITMENT]
How can a victim be tricked and recruited?
Methodical grooming: online or in-person
Seduction (love), then Coercion: “You won’t? I’ll get your little sister/brother then.”
Peer recruitment/Spotter – sometimes under control of the trafficker
False advertising for jobs like “modeling”, “acting”, “dancing”
Befriending through chat rooms, profile-sharing sites/gaming apps
Watching pornography that normalizes rough sex
Sometimes traffickers use violence, force, kidnapping
Familiar people/neighbors/boy or girlfriends selling children
Parents/Family selling children/siblings
